You have 4 hours spare this evening? Do you want to work for a vetted employer? Your company needs extra people for just 90 minutes to cover a lunchtime rush? Why not buy the time of individuals who want to work in short bursts? Marketplaces for Slivers-of-Time Working allow anyone to sell their spare hours to local employers.

 Who needs a marketplace for Slivers-of-Time?

Buyers may choose to train pools of sellers. For example, a supermarket might put 25 Slivers-of-Time sellers around the store through a 4 hour induction. Then they have pre-trained, ready to go, top-up staff constantly on-tap for peak periods. One seller may be inducted by multiple businesses.

The UK wants Slivers-of-Time Working

Government commissioned research shows 13.7m people in Britain needing to work this way at some point each year. 68% of them want to try it immediately with 74% of those preferring it to a conventional part-time or temporary job even if such an option was available.

Leading the world

This new form of employment emerged from 12 years work in British think tanks and technology companies. Started in East London with funding from the UK government, Slivers-of-Time Ltd. is now a Social Enterprise.
