Objectives for launch
To accelerate the "Narrowing the Gap" initiative to bring people from the city's deprived areas into the workforce.
Current status
The council leader and corporate management team have backed a launch. Work to go through the new marketplace is being identified around the council. Outreach is in hand to other employers in the area.
Target date for first transactions
Market launched ahead of schedule on 3rd Oct 2007 with a substantial event for local employers at the Town Hall. Transactions are flowing from the Council's Facilities Management division and other departments. External employers start buying shortly.
